Theon-going Precarity Series shifts between the personal, political and tangible realms. Black lines form simple structural shapes that are then filmed collapsing, or recorded after the fall in a still image. The simple collapsing structures embrace the devastating feelings of loss and the collapse of the known we all felt in 2020 (and continue to feel) due to the global pandemic, human injustice and natural disasters spurred on by climate change. However, Precarity Series simultaneously accepts collapse as a loss and a beginning. Social constructs must collapse so that collectively we can rebuild a more just society and do the important work of change needed.
