Exhibition statement

"Disruptive Ecologies" aims to examine how artists employ artmaking as a means of disrupting oppressive systems and institutions to forge connections with people and natural environments. Through weaving contemporary modes of craft, decorative arts, and gardening (, the exhibition will embrace Villa Terrace Art Museum as a laboratory to critique domestic labor, colonialism, and the documentation of history and time.
